Lynne Bolton's PAINT FACTORY

I am one of the founders of Primitive Kool Gallery, but I am also a compulsive painter, and embellisher of objects. I paint trees, boards, sofas and anything else that needs decoration. I've taken over our one car garage and renamed it The Paint Factory. It's normally what you'll find in there, all over everything. Right now I'm experimenting with spray paints, stencils, and mixing effects using all mediums. I specialize in portraits and have been making a living (sort of) at it for about 20 years. Paintings can take from three days to three weeks, depending on detail, subject matter and medium. I'm working more in acrylics now, as oils take an incredibly long time to dry and I'm too driven to wait these days. I use spray paint for a lot of my backgrounds and that's also in the experimental stage!

Every day is an adventure in the Factory!

My name is Lynne Bolton. I'm a self-taught artist and I compulsively paint  on everything, including walls, found wood, canvas, pillows, sofas and most  inanimate surfaces…while listening to loud dub step.  My realistic aesthetic is at war with my abstract thinking, so you'll notice one or the other wins out from time to time. I'm inspired by Peter Max, Andy Warhol, Maxfield Parish, Mark Ryden, Tim Burton and some of the Renaissance masters. I call my studio The Paint Factory. It's my garage, which I share with a red Prius. It gets a little tight, but I manage. PS I used to be Aidan Rose!
